Our organization was founded in 1994 on the principle that soccer is a powerful tool in youth development. In 2001 we refined our focus and became Minnesota Thunder P.L.U.S. – Partnering for Leadership and Urban Success.

Since that shift and through our Board-driven strategic planning process, we are actively addressing the unique leadership development needs of girls, building deep community support for all the youth we serve, and factoring into our programs a more genuine understanding of the complexity of the Twin Cities’ cultural diversity.

Since we began, we have served thousands of urban and immigrant youth and partnered with more than 20 community organizations in pursuit of our mission:
